David Bruss, M.D., is an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist at Beach Cities ENTS. With a strong interest in the full breadth of otolaryngology, Dr. Bruss brings particular expertise in sleep surgery, thyroid/parathyroid surgery, pediatric ENT surgery, and sinonasal surgery. He is also among the few surgeons trained in hypoglossal nerve stimulator surgery, a novel and effective approach for treating sleep apnea and snoring. Dr. Bruss has received Inspire implant certification, an achievement reserved for surgeons who have completed a minimum number of procedures in addition to a rigorous certification course.

Dr. Bruss was drawn to otolaryngology by the fascinating anatomy of the head and neck—and by the unique ability of ENT surgeons to improve patients’ lives through advances in breathing, hearing, smell, speech, and sleep. He is especially passionate about surgical care for obstructive sleep apnea, a cornerstone of overall health that remains significantly underdiagnosed and undertreated. His goal is to help patients enjoy the highest quality of life—whether through improved sleep and breathing, relief from chronic head and neck conditions, or prevention and treatment of head and neck cancer. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Bruss is also passionate about global health and has participated in—and led—multiple medical service trips to Central America, South America, and Africa. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, playing basketball, and attending live music events.
