Nathan Eivaz, M.D., is an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist with Beach Cities ENTS. He has an interest in the entire breadth of otolaryngology with expertise in sleep, head and neck surgery, sinus surgery, and ear surgery. He is one of the few surgeons trained in hypoglossal nerve stimulator surgery, a novel and effective means for treating sleep apnea and snoring. He is also one of the few ENT surgeons in the South Bay area offering endoscopic ear surgery, a minimally invasive alternative to traditional approaches that does not require any external incisions. He is trilingual and fluent in English, Spanish, and Assyrian/Aramaic.
Dr. Eivaz was drawn to the field of otolaryngology "because it focuses on restoring the essence of what makes us all human — to speak, hear, smell, and taste — all things we take for granted until the moment we no longer can." His passion is to help patients experience the highest quality of life by restoring these irreplaceable senses.
Dr. Eivaz offers a number of minimally invasive in-office procedures to address snoring, chronic rhinitis (runny nose), nasal congestion, sinus disease, and ear disease. His specialties include balloon sinuplasty, ClariFix® cryotherapy, VivAer®, LATERA® nasal valve implants, eustachian tube dilation, turbinate reduction, and uvulectomy.
Dr. Eivaz completed his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He earned his medical doctorate and graduated with highest honors from the University of Florida. He is one of the few physicians with membership in both the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation for Humanism in Medicine, which is a reflection of the highest commitment to service and patient care.
After achieving his M.D., Dr. Eivaz completed a five-year residency in otolaryngology at the University of Texas - Southwestern Medical Center, where he trained under world-renowned experts in ear, sinus, and sleep surgery. He gave multiple presentations at national meetings for the American Academy of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery, published articles in peer-reviewed journals, and served as an editor for the Journal of Otolaryngology Case Reports.
In his free time, Dr. Eivaz enjoys hiking, running, tennis, international travel, cooking, and trying new foods.
