Why did you choose a career in medicine?
I chose a career in medicine because I was always drawn to the sciences. | never saw myself sitting at a desk all day crunching numbers or filling out forms. I value interpersonal connections too much and you can really make a positive impact on people's lives with quality medical care.

What is your favorite procedure to perform?
My favorite procedure is wax cleaning. You can really make someone's day by cleaning out their ears!

What charities do you contribute to?
I enjoy contributing to charities that revolve around education and helping children in need.

Many of my closest friends and family members work in education/special education. One organization in particular that means a lot to me is the Love Them All Foundation. They work to provide sport and other extracurricular activities to children with intellectual disabilities. I used to serve as a coach for them before going to grad school and l loved it!

Most influential mentor that you've worked with?
The most influential mentor in my life is my brother-in-law. He is a physician that specializes in neurosurgery in the central valley. He was the first person to tell me what a PA is and what a great career it is. He helped me with application, letters, and allowed me to volunteer and rotate through his practice, if not for him, there's no question i would not be where l am today.

Goals that you have? Either personally, professionally or both.
I'd really like to participate in more medical mission trips. During my medical education in Virginia, medical missions were a big part of our program’s philosophy. I had the pleasure of flying to the Dominican Republic twice to provide much needed free medical aid to rural parts of the island. It was an extremely fulfilling experience and I hope to do it again in the future.

What do you love to do in your time off?
In my time off like to golf and practice yoga. During the weekends I love watching soccer, especially Liverpool!

Sami Ali, PA-C is enthusiastically prepared to meet and provide care to our patients!
